THE HISTORY OF THORPE PARK

Thorpe Park is situated in Surrey, between Chertsey and Staines-Upon-Thames.

Originally a gravel pit after the Thorpe Park Estate was demolished in the 1930s, the park was built in the 1970s on the partially flooded area, creating a unique water-based theme.

Lord Louis Mountbatten opened Thorpe Park Resort to the public in 1979, and it has since become one of the UK's beloved theme parks, continuously expanding throughout the years.
